Golden National Family Restaurant in High River

Very friendly, attentive waitress. That is always a welcomed perk. Thank you. The meal was good. Fresh and hot. It lacked in flavor somewhat. We have only been there once, hopefully we can try it again.

Worst food ever, no flavor, hardly any meat, beef and broccoli and 2 pieces of meat. Couldn't find any meat in the special chow main. Dont waste your money.

My food was burnt the rice was over done. Went to go send it back and my server was no where to be found. Waited 20 minutes for her to come.

After seeing the kitchens and how they handle food I get sick thinking about everyone eating here. It is a small miracle no one has died.(Think raw chicken sitting in the dishes sink for hours until someone orders it)

Food was good but by my receipt it looks like I was charged taxes twice. I still have and am keeping the receipt. Wony be going back there anytime soon that's for sure

Our waitress was very attentive, and friendly. The food is good. A little gem in High River, especially if you want to escape busy Calgary.

I love the staff. Always happy and cheerful. The food is great. I wish they had a few more deals like when you order so muche get an item free kinda thing but still the best place in town.😆

Last week we decided to go back and see if it improved. We went inside and all we seen was paper plates. Plastic cutlery and plastic cups. We approached the server and said the diswasher was broke. Do they have a backup that could do the dishes ?Dont go back again. Well go to the other one by Tims.

The 1st time we ever ordered, we were not impressed at all. We spoke to the owner, who asked us to try them again at a discount. We decided to try again this evening, and they must have just had a bad night the 1st try because the food tonight was incredible. By far the best Chinese in High River. We will definitely order again.

Will always be a personal favorite of mine. Sweet and sour suace is the best around. Lemon chicken is awesome.

The staff were so friendly and when I told them about my allergy the were very careful with my order. It was delicious and I was comfortable not worrying about having a reaction. Thanks to the lovely owner who came to say hi to us and her wonderful staff. Made our experience so relaxing.

Food is okay, but over salted. Like everything tastes like it was cooked on a salt cube, and then sprinkled with more salt before serving. Avoid if you're watching sodium in your diet.

I've yet to be disappointed eating here. They consistently make great food, and their lunch specials have fantastic value. Full plate of fresh lunch that changes specials daily to keep things fresh for a very reasonable price will keep me coming back. Thank you Golden National!

Food was burnt noodles were bad my rice was over cooked waited for my waitress for 20 min to send it back tried to send it back they told me it's because they fry the noodles before I get that but you dont have to burn them anyways customer service sucked and will not be going back

Not been here myself, HOWEVER I am from the Uk,London and i called to make an order to my gf who was ill and Golden national was so nice, it was actually also further then where they would usually deliver but they did it anyway,the also forgot a sweet and sour sauce which i DIDNT ask them to bring back but they did. The lady i spoke to went above and beyond to help and make it work so thank you GOLDEN NATIONAL.NEXT time i am there ill pay you a visit 😊Was also a plus that they took a card payment 😂Imagine me making the call and getting her to pay for it.

Usually I'd give 5 stars but today although our meal was very fresh and good tasting the portions weren't the usual size. We (2of us) ordered three dishes and had very little left over.

We found our new favourite Chinese restaurant yesterday. The Chinese food was amazing. We had the Cantonese wor wonton for 2....more than generous serving, wonderful broth. ..shrimp..chicken and bbq beef cooked to perfection. The vegetables were fresh and not over cooked..the ginger beef was tender and so flavourful. The Cantonese Chow Men was wonderful.. vegetables were fresh and the sauce lovely with very well cooked noodles. We loved the food. Service staff lovely...friendly and helpful...nice clean surroundings. Thanks for a great Wednesday night out...

They were friendly and efficient on the phone, delivered faster than promised and the food was amazing!

Really good deal for lunch here a couple days ago. 9.50 for a combo meal which included soup, desert, fried rice, ginger beef, veggies. Everything was fresh and tasty. At that price I am surprised the place wasn't busier.

If I could I would give a negative 1, placed an order for my birthday dinner they said it would take about 40 minutes to pick up I said wow that's a while ill call back if I need to cancel. Anyway my friends decided 40 minutes would be ok to wait so we drove from Nanton to pick up the order only to have the woman tell my husband I'd called to cancel the order. I was fuming as this ruined our whole night and I wouldn't mind I've not been to the restaurant since Judy and Joe left and have been driving to Calgary for my Chinese and decided to give them a try because the ratings were not bad. Lesson learnt I will only go to Calgary and never to high river for my Chinese food.

I did takeout, ready in half the time they had quoted, they brought it out to my car! Well presented and very fresh and good.

People should that we have traveled all of the Eastern states and many of the North Western States and and have yet to find an Asian restaurant that made such delicious food, and they do make it...in house. First thing you should try is the egg roll. WOW, JUST WOW!!!!!

Just arrived from a busy work day in Okotoks to pick up our order which my wife phoned in, to be told she'd cancelled the order? I phoned her to check and she explained she'd phoned the restaurant put in the order but quote "I will call back if I wish to cancel the order". This was obviously interpreted as she wanted to cancel the order completely. I wasted my journey and it ruined our nights plan for food. We won't ever go back there again !! We'd prefer to drive to Mackenzie town to go to the golden national which delivers better food in our view.
